Speaking during an interview, Diiadem described Snapchat as her favourite social media platform, saying it allows her to share her life and experiences authentically without having to sugarcoat anything.
She revealed that she was verified on Snapchat about five years ago after the platform recognised her credibility and activity on the app.
According to her, she later received an email informing her that her account was eligible for monetisation, making her, in her words, “the first creator to be paid on Snap in Nigeria.”
Diiadem explained that although other Nigerian creators could see earnings in their Snapchat payout accounts, they were unable to access the money at the time.
She said she was able to complete the required forms and meet the platform’s payment requirements, including being eligible to receive payments and keeping her tax information up to date.
The content creator recalled openly sharing screenshots whenever Snapchat credited her account, saying many people were curious about how she managed to access the payments.
She added that Snapchat’s monetisation encouraged her to create even more content because she could earn money from simply sharing her everyday life.
“I’m the first creator to be paid by Snapchat in Nigeria. Even on days I don’t post, I still wake up and see money in my account. I get paid $3,000-$5,000 every two weeks,” Diiadem stated.
When asked whether the amount was a monthly payment, she clarified that the earnings could come every two weeks and vary depending on how frequently she posts.
“So it depends on how you post. Let me be honest,” she said.
